Our Origin

Velvet Mesa began not in an office, but on a degraded reef. Our founder, standing on bleached coral, asked a simple question: what if tourism funded recovery instead of accelerating decline?

That question became a framework. Within three years, we'd partnered with twelve conservation organizations, restored four endangered habitats, and proven that luxury and responsibility weren't opposites—they were prerequisites.

Now we operate across six ecosystems, each trip engineered to generate measurable environmental benefit.

How We Work Differently

Standard ecotourism companies minimize harm. We require benefit.

Operating Principles

Revenue Transparency

Twenty percent of every booking goes directly to indigenous land management programs. Fifteen percent funds habitat restoration. The remaining revenue covers operations and partner accommodations.

Local Employment First

Eighty-seven percent of our staff are from the regions where we operate. We don't import expertise—we develop it locally through paid training programs.

Infrastructure That Disappears

Every structure we use can be dismantled and removed within seventy-two hours, leaving no permanent footprint.
